The public names are Adel, GitHub ad3lre, Reddit u/ad3lyt. The legal name on the policy is a German Kleingewerbe. The product voice is “we.” The contributor graph is one account.
ad3lre, display name Adel, created 10 March 2022. Zero followers. Echo is the only repo with stars.release/1.0.0. Contributors API: ad3lre, 84 contributions. Zero GitHub Releases.llm-testing, forks of discord-alternatives lists, typo, MTI / MTI2, a 2022 empty GitHub Pages repo.Old personal archaeology from Reddit fights is not the product. The product is the operator and the database.
Live on the official marketing site: app-echo.net/poll. Title: “Adel Approval Poll.” Subtitle: “Fifty quick questions. Climb the board. One shot, make it count.” The API is https://chat-echo.com/api/v1/echo/marketing-poll/adel-approval-v2. The board shows country flags “where people played from.”
The question bank, marketing/src/lib/adelApprovalPoll/questions.ts, scores answers 0 to 4. One Community item:
A long-time member publicly says the community’s founders are untrustworthy and the project should move in a different direction. What should happen?
The option that scores 4, the best match: “Remove the member because the basic direction is no longer shared.” “Keep the member as long as they follow ordinary behavior rules” scores 1. The poll is branded as Adel’s approval. The high score is removing people who say the founder is untrustworthy.
A chat app that stores plaintext DMs, plus a personality leaderboard named after the operator, plus geolocation flags, is a lot of “anonymous.”
On the record, in public, in his own username:
The same week as the “lie” replies, the repo closed a High XSS and a High IDOR. See security. Users in the thread asked both sides for evidence. Adel had a patch log and did not link it. He linked the GitHub and said there were no matching vulnerabilities.
u/kiseiwa, score 8, on the warning thread: “Oh I know this guy, he recorded me and my server for content without permission.” The comment names the critic. The thread is messy, and messy is the actual public record. This site does not treat that line as a finding on Adel.
The agent charter is written for “human contributors and automated agents.” Day-to-day git is GitLab. GitHub is a rewritten linear history so outsiders never see main. Maintainers are told to gitleaks a clean tree before the first public push. DEVELOPMENT.md still says public development uses GitHub only. Both files shipped in the same snapshot.
That is a choice. It is a choice that also erases the commit graph of the API-key incident, the 103 findings, and whoever actually typed the 476k lines. AGPL on a nightly dump is source available. It is not a lab notebook.
The marketing site says team. The SaaS post says a couple of friends. GitHub says one contributor. German registration says Kleingewerbe. CODEOWNERS is a list of directories with no owners. Security reports are handled as capacity allows.
None of that forbids a serious solo project. It forbids the brochure sentence that a team stands behind your DMs, your Google refresh tokens, and a CSAM checklist that is still a checklist.
You are choosing a person who:
That is the founder. The product is the database he holds.
